Mood Board and Fabric Shopping A/W 2019 Collection (Roma Style)

Having had a busy week with fabric shopping visiting the famous London sites of  Berwick Street and Shepherds Bush, sourcing the silks for the pre-designed gowns. The  budget was in mind and feeling ready, however, fabric shopping is the most time consuming task in the deign and research stage and it can be a little frustrating. Feeling much more prepared now and aware of the fabrics and colours, or should we say, tones that are being used now. Its a good thing. Some of the fabrics you can expect to see are the classic silk crepe de chine, a natural silk (in a colour called pearl), fuji silk, organza and a silk dupion mix. Finding a wrinkled creped polyester that they said they wouldn’t get again – and loving it – It couldn’t be done in silk. Just having to buy it as its so nice to have the same look but with a bit of interest and texture to it. #Misan #SilkSociety #BerwickStreetClothShop

The mood board has also been published and as you can see below  inspiration is drawn from a recent trip abroad to the amazing Rome, Italy. Feeling very drawn to certain areas of Roman architecture and liking the toga dress style of the times recorded in statues of honour. Having always liked draping, DHBridaldesigns has touched on some of this in the first bridal collection, at Uni, but still liking the idea of exploring more in this effect. Lace is going to be a textile technique, used this time around, more so, especially being in the bridal trade lace is a luxurious and wonderful textile to wear for that special day.  Making reference to the 1920’s elongated and slimline silhouette however the fish tail has been also on the heart and mind for A/W 2019. #DHbridaldesigns #Applique #BobbinLace #NeedleLace
