Spring / Summer 2020 ~ The Parisian Collection, Final Line-Up

The final selection has been made and based on my last collection consumer feedback and evaluating my strengths and weaknesses from recent work, I can be confident in these designs and know that I will get people who will take a liking to these dresses. The inspiration was drawn from a recent Paris trip, seeing and recording images of stained glass in a famous cathedral, looking at women’s attire in the impressionist paintings of that time, at a big Museum there and finding elements of inspiration from street art such as the art nouveau iron work, at the metro entrances.

I have decided to buy the fabrics first this time around in my work and think this has helped my design process, in being able to drape fabric on the stand and get a feel for how they might look in a 3D perspective. I hope to include and find draped designs going forwards as my final selection in future collections, so I am glad that I have been able to introduce this way of designing into my work process.

The fabrics selected here, are of natural silk – every dress designed is to be made of silk as the DH Bridal Designs promise is, as a guarantee. These are garments made for very special and important dates of my potential customers and I want to make sure the dresses have that special feel and look to them; made as luxury items to help them enjoy and remember that day for always.

The collection features the classic dupion silk to be using something well known and traditional, sand washed silk in an off-white colour, which is so smooth and soft to the touch and satin silk in brilliant white, which is very different and promising to use – these are just some of the materials which have purchased and been selected.

The audience I write for are usually young and passionate design professionals or students with inspirational and informative posts aimed at most people in the fashion and design business. I design and make for youthful and / or discerning customers, women who like something in the style of classic yet contemporary, feminine and edgy. Choosing valued fabrics and which give a great feel to the dresses, made to measure service and with a professional finish.

The designs and styles are ready and now its a case of moving forward in the design and making process. I have given a sneaky peak into what to expect from this Spring / Summers collection and I hope it gets people interested, following and watching this space. I really enjoy my work and so I am quite fortunate to be able to do something that I trained and was educated in and now get to do for a full time job. I hope the passion for the work that I do spreads and that I can capture the hearts of many women around the Country to be able to trust in my brand.
